As a researcher on malaria and malaria RDTs, I read more than a dozens of articles of HRP2/3-gene deletions so that many have reported false-negative results of the the HRP2/3-detecting RDTs across endemic countries.
More research in to such deletions seems to be waste of limited budgets, time and manpower. Hence, once it's internationally recognized as a the parasite is resistant to diagnosis, why the #WHO allocated for funds in this area than production of malaria RDTs that simultaneously detected 3 P. falciparum antigens like HRP2, pLDH and plasmodium aldolase? This easier that molecular tools , and accelerates the malaria elimination program.
I need more comments and asnwers!
