In many countries of Latin America the "Rural medical service" is a well known program that Health Ministeries offer to just-graduated physicians in order to improve their professional skills attending in isolated and poor social areas. Basically, physicians and nurses receive their first-contract in those areas for 6 to 12 months. Because those areas are usually not well connected (sometimes they are even completely isolated), the health practitioners do not receive significative professional support in their daily work. It is well known cases of abuse, bad-practice, violence thru the news that reflect adverse work conditions for those youth new professionals. Unfortunately we were not able to find properly and formal researches to confirm this. Perhaps, we did not find them properly or just this issue is still not very studied. There are similar situations in other continents? If somebody could share with us some of those studies is more than welcome. Regards.
