neither the geological age, you referred to nor the environment spreading across very marginal to a basin are an obstacle to use sequence stratigraphy (=SS). This is valid especially in case of defining planar architectural element of relevance to SS. As you can learn from the cross section you may be able to predict rather reliably the presence of clay beds in a certain environment. This estuary ends up more landward in an alluvial fan.

Sequence stratigraphy depends on the tracing of physical stratigraphic discontinuities. It applies therefore in any circumstance in which such discontinuities can be identified and traced.

Sequence stratigraphy has been applied to Quaternary but if you are using well data then many geophysical logs are restricted in the top 100m due to the difficulty of recording physical properties through a drill string.

If you have a good data and if you can identify a physical stratigraphic discontinuities and a system tracts, you can applied a Seaquence stratigraphy to a Quaternay deposits.

Sequence stratigraphy has nothing to do with identifying systems tracts. Really, it doesn't. Many systems tract interpretations in the literature are in any case arbitrary – an exercise in fitting terminology to data without any objective basis for the interpretations being made.

The Gironde estuary interpretation is an example of sequence stratigraphy that makes no sense.

Actually I do have the data from two wells drilled by cable tool drilling machine. I have one sample from each meter. Total depth is 92m and 82m.

Samples basicly pebbles with intercalation of cobbles, sand and mud. you can't believe that we got a boulder >30cm from the depth 82m. Kindly find attached.

I'm convenced that the discontinuties are the basics for sequence stratigraphy, But the problem is it is very difficult to define each discontinuty, unless we depend on the systems tracts or by having surface outcrops.

Every case is different. The objective is to establish how the sediments accumulated as a function of time. It isn't an exercise in classification or fitting terminology. It is commonly the case, within a limited volume, that specific systems tracts are poorly developed or absent altogether.
