hello! i am now confused by time point or phase contribution. as the time is a continous varible, does it fit to use two-way anova? actually i only care about treatment varible. if i just use t test to compare treatment at different time point, i think i may not draw a conclusion for the whole. thanks anyone for help!
The two way anova is a robust method. Perform two way anova on data that is contextually linked to each other (e.g. different amounts of the same treatment on the same kind of sample, tested against the untreated control), but would prefer doing t-tests between unconnected groups of data (e.g. treatment A, treatment B, treatment n, versus the untreated control).
Can you please state your research design, and what hypothesis you want to test, more clearly?
@Stephen Politzer-Ahles my design is simple, one cell line transfected with empty vector and overexpression aim gene vector, comparing two cell lines' proliferation by cck-8 and cell cycle phase assay. for my result, analysis two value at each time point or cell phase with t test, there is significantly different; but if analysis two cell line with two way anova, p value of interaction is >0.05. so could i draw the conclusion only saying " at each time poiont is different"? thanks again.
Sorry, but I cannot understand your explanation. It would be ideal if you could explain, without jargon, what is being compared.
