Hi everyone,

I have a question: is it possible to use the DIF method to test the expected item response by comparing two different measures in the same population? Sometimes, DIF is tested considering differences between groups by country, age, language, etc. In my specific case, I suppose to compare two different measures/scales having the same construct (i.e., self-efficacy); however, the first is a new development tool that assesses the self-efficacy for specific health behaviours, while the second tool allows for the measurement of general self-efficacy.

Thus, I think that patients using a more specific self-efficacy tool will have different expected items responses than patients using a more general tool self-efficacy.

Thanks in advance for your support
