You already said about friction, is the important issue you have to consider when talking about ball bearings. In case of metals we can use lubricants. I am not an engineer to speak all these. Provided if you have developed such a variety that have a good coefficient of friction and with stands deformation I believe it is possible to use HD polymer in heavy load bearings. In fact technology is changing we are watching interesting items.

You are specialist in tribological bearing design, so do you agree to re-manufacture heavy loaded bearing by using polymeric materials? If so what is the best polymer? Are there relation between maximum loading capacity and stability of dimensions in polymeric materials comparing with metals?
