We have a direct labeled alexa fluor antibody against our target of interest, but the signal isn't very strong against background autofluorescence. Is it possible to use a secondary antibody against the labeled primary to amplify the signal? I haven't really found anything on whether the alexa fluor tag would interfere with the binding of a secondary antibody or not. Also, even if it is possible will the primary alexa fluor label still emit a signal?
