I've recently started studying about wastewater treatment and would like to write a research proposal about sludge recycling as fertilizer. So, I was wondering whether it is possible to treat wastewater with no sludge production or not. Please kindly answer my question. Thank you very much.
May be fixed bed column adsorption/biosorption/chemisorption help you with nanocomposite adsorbent.
A planted filter does not require electricity to treat wastewater. Thanks to its root system, the sanitation does not risk clogging. Moreover, instead of producing sludge, the system creates humus.

It's possible that in the reactions all compounds be it be organic or in organic may be fully in dissolved form and all matter in liquid form, no solids.
Also the rhizomes or the root system are so arranged that, all effluents do not flow out Etc. But get totally fixed in the root-zone areas.. and no solids flow out.

Нужно проанализировать насколько правильна постановка вопроса по очистке сточных вод без осадка. В осадок выводится большое количество вредных веществ, которые затем нейтрализуются различными методами (химическим разложением, био..., ультрафиолет и др.). В случае перевода вредных веществ в раствор, задача их удаления остаётся и её всё равно придётся решать. Возможно это будет гораздо дороже, чем работа с осадками сточных вод. Учитывая, что на основе осадков можно получать полезный продукт (качественный гумус и др.) и при этом дополнительно утилизировать иные отходы муниципальных образований (или частных домохозяйств), постановка вопроса вызывает сомнение. Как минимум нужно сравнить затраты по работе с растворами и осадком.

Some water and wastewater treatment technologies do not PRODUCE sludge, such as membrane technologies (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, membrane distillation). HOWEVER, before using these processes, the water has to be treated by some other methods such as coagulation and flocculation. As you know these methods are along with sludges. In fact, before treating water and wastewater, the materials we call sludge have to be separated regardless of the process you will use in the next steps.

all depends on the treatment method chosen. if the natural treatment system therefore does not find sludge. then the sludge is also linked to the flow of wastewater
