GFPs excitation and emission peaks are 485nm and 509nm respectively but most standard sets of filters seem to include 485nm excitation and not 509nm emission. The closest that pops up seems to be 535nm. This would pick up signal, albeit lower than at 509nm. GFP is such a commonly used fluorophore I am wondering if 535nm is standardly used for all green fluorophores and would actually be fine?
