Hi, I'm working with molten salt-base nanofluids and I would like to know if it is possible to obtain thermal conductivity using MDSC or DSC. If it is possible, Is it a good technique for nanofluids at high temperature?
I feel DSC is not for thermal conductivity measurement. It is designed for the glass transition temperature, melting and crystallization of polymers and others. However, the heat capacity and heat flow you get while you are running for a range of temperatures. Thermal conductivity meter is designed for the conductivity measurement. It is a simple equipment hooked up with computer and easy to measure.
As i know, calculating the Thermal conductivity is possible using MDSC. I have an experience only on solid samples. No idea about fluids. But always better to go for a specific equipment which are made to measure thermal conductivity.
