hi , im not sure I got your specific or accurate goal you wanted to achieve by this question but , do I wrong if I think we observe varieties to find similarities and then with the prorate method of math and analysis , you are actually are working in combine of two project , let me tell an example , imagine project of getting rid of sugar in soda , the name is what I told ,but there is two factory , two different brand wanted to do that Cok and Pepsi , they got rid of that but still they have similar formulation so you can use them , get them out of their blue and red packings , flow them into one space , now , are they different to you ? it is possible Pepsi flows right and Coka flows left ? now get rid of any thing or do what ever , make a new package and run your brand :)) I think when you think sooooo far and more simple some how you get the idea maybe so stupid idea but when you put that idea's map on your works it probably works and take you to the real and big complicated path but first give yourself chance to be a person who wants to be the most silly and can't understand really easy , think you are explainingto that person so find the most easy way or first sketch the easy part of portrait then you got the rest of that is playing pen on paper unlimited for making mistakes . hope my advice gonna be helpful . good luck

If the outcome of two projects are similar , can be merged for better understanding and achievable outcome.

It would help if you were more specific about the projects cause you don't give much to go on. But yes, if the projects are similar in nature you could merge them into one. If they are on the same topic but aim to answer different research questions for example, you could still merge them into one (if practicable) and the researchers could produce two different research papers. Two projects, even with the same name and same researchers, are not going to be the "same" project, just as two people with the same name and same parents, are not the same person! Look at your project: are you using different measurements in the projects? Then you can't merge. Are you measuring different parameters? Then you can't merge. Do you have different grant money for each project? You probably won't be able to merge under those circumstances either. You should probably examine how this conundrum came about - how did two projects with the same name and same researchers come into being? It seems like a waste of resources. Or maybe it isn't - maybe the intent was to replicate results? But if that is so, you should have different researchers do the replicating, otherwise you may be accused of bias.
