I measured NH3 concentrations using phenol-nitroprusside method with a microplate reader. The optical density (OD) readings from my blank were a little higher than the OD from some of the samples. However, I got negative concentrations for the samples when I extrapolated using the equation from the standard calibration curve.
What can I do to fix this?
Plus, is it possible to have negative ammonia readings from ammonia volatilization in the field?
Please, I need answers urgently.

It is an extrapolation, maybe it is just noise... In this case you can assume the lowest concentration... And if ammonia comes out from urea, after 20 days all nitrogen is volatilized, and you will have cero concentration.

I believe that if you can have negative data; I think that for NH3 the analysis must be "in situ" , congratulations
