Hello , upon reading literature that detail the mechanism of positively charged ions of chitosan interacting with negatively charged ions of tissue and sodium alginate component of hydrogel to form adhesive bond, as well as coupling reagents (transglutaminase) to facilitate covalent bonds, I would like to know if it is possible to graft the positively charged chitosan and TG enzyme within the PVA/sodium alginate hydrogel.
This is considering most applications of chitosan as an adhesive is used on the surface of the hydrogel.

You can use that way but the connectivity will be of physical interaction type, for a stable connectivity you will need to have the chemical linking, although you may use weak, lessened cross linker.
