I would like to study diabetics with protein and diabetics without protein at molecular level in cell culture model. Is it possible to have non proteinuric diabetic in vitro model.
Let's begin with some additional details. What type of cells are planning to use for ex vivo model of diabetes?
Proteinurea simply means that kidney function of the individual is impaired and it is beginning to have difficulty retaining proteins - some are spilling in urine. How can that be relevant to in vitro?
The only things you test in vitro is to simulate certain well-known conditions associated with diabetes, beginning with elevated levels of glucose, followed by lipids, insulin (in case of type 2 diabetes with insulin resistance), ketone bodies etc.
A more crucial aspect is what cell type you wish to study and what aspects of this cell will be your target.
