Is it possible to estimate with Horwitz-Thompson the number of networks from an Adaptive Cluster Sampling?

Together with the estimations of other parameters (mean, total etc.), is it possible, using Horwitz-Thompson estimators, to estimate the actual number of networks (cluster of adjacent sampling units where e.g. a given species was found), basing on the results of an Adaptive Cluster Sampling?
