Is it possible to do CV test for Lithium ion batteries in three electrode setup (consisting of active material on deposited Cu foil, Pt counter electrode, and Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode) instead of using the coin cell in an acidic electrolyte ?

Yes. it is entirely possible. while it will not be possible to use Ag/AgCl reference electrode because it is water based. In organic electrolyte, You may need to use either Ag/Ag+ (battery electrolyte as solvent) or Li pseudo reference electrode. give much information. However, this set up is very difficult to prepare and maintain in inert atmosphere. Therefore the standard protocol to test the anode/cathode half cell in 2 electrode coin cell setup using Li as counter and pseudo reference electrode. If you want to test the full Li-ion battery in 3 electrode setup it is also possible using 3-electrode Swagelok cell/ split cell using anode, cathode and Li- reference electrode etc.
