Till now, many arthropod cell lines have successfully been developed. I am sending to you in an attachment recently published article on the culturing of arthropod cell line. I hope it will be helpful to you.
if you have independent cells from non parasitic class of insect cells, you can culture them more likely in a similar manner. But in case of mammalian cells which need high serum requirement with additional requirement of glucose, minerals, vitamins, salts and peptides to grow. These cells are highly enzyme and hormone responsive hence, an additional dose or physiological dose is mostly required. Some times feeder layer cell culture is required to culture parasites, such cell lines that function like feeder cells are more difficult to culture.
Agree with Ravi Kant Upadhyay , also Insect cells are cultured in growth media that are usually more acidic than those used for mammalian cells such as TNM-FH and Grace’s medium.
Yes It is possible to culture arthropod cells (Insect cells) in a similar fashion of mammalian cells.Infact SF9 insect cell culture system is much developed and used for expression of therapeutic proteins.
