Robotics is an aspect of Artificial Intelligence (a sub-field of Computer Science). The fight against infectious diseases is still on-going. Is it possible to apply the knowledge of robotics to the fight against infectious diseases? For example, from my own perspective, is it possible to develop robotic mosquitoes to identify, target and deal with real-life mosquitoes? or develop softwares that can be well-integrated to fight infectious diseases?
Kindly answer this question according to your own perspective or personal opinion.

One friend of mine in Japan worked on software agents for simulation of people's behavior , including behavior in the case of an epidemic of infection disease. Some people flee carrying the disease with them others can be quarantined, some even can be evil and try to pass the disease to other people. Some aspects of agent technologies are also applied in robotics. So I can imagine real robots, not simulated people, behaving as humans to study the propagation of epidemics
According to me it is possible to apply knowledge of robotics to fight against infectious diseases. But in addition to that you will need knowledge of many other branches of science and technology like nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, biology, anatomy, biotechnology etc.
Small size robots can be constructed and sent inside the body and their motion and action can be controlled either from outside(manual) or can be programmed to do a specific task by itself(autonomous).

Yes, it is absolutely possible to use Robotics in the field of disease control. To use robotic tools in various ways.
Look Out for Nano robotics. A whole line of research fields are open on various aspects of Nano Robotics. Some of the major approaches are: mechanical bots, Bacteria or virus based, BioChip, nubots etc.... There are lots of attempts to cure cancer using nanobots.
Some of the implemented solutions are:
1. Localized delivery of an anti-cancer drug by remote-controlled microcarriers.
2. Control of Wireless Device Inside Artery
3. 'Nanorobotic' Arm To Operate Within DNA Sequence

My PhD research centered on the application of computing to controlling the spread of infectious disease (in this case malaria) - by creating a stochastic, spatially-explicit computational model.
In this case, there are several constraints: dimensions, control actions and intelligent handlers, energy supply, efficient algorithms and reliable, and others. The enviroments are pretty specific and whole weird, but I can see step by step such possibility. The technology is terrific. I believe that.
Robotics are the key tool which help us explore the huge parameter spaces of biological systems. Just look into laboratory automation and screening, there are hundreds / thousands of papers on the subject.
