Each gene in a chromosome is of different type.Is it possible to apply genetic operators(selection, crossover, mutation) on such a varying gene structure chromosome.
crossover and recombination are not operations that require genes. Any similar sequence either within a gene or ,for instance, between viral ( junk) and intragenic dna will be a target for recombination or even motifs within genes that are similar between gens may have sufficient similarity to allow crossovers
Let me make u clear.. My goal is that, I have to come out with an optimized Architecture.Hence planning to use genetic or any Evolutionary algorithm. Lets assume that my chromosome length is 10 and each gene takes different values. For example first gene may take a value from 10 to 20, second may take from 0 to 1,third may take some 50 to 100 and so on. Now i want to know whether this type of varying gene structure is possible. Or this type of problem can be solved using any other optimization algorithm. Thank u..
In a case of your study design for individual level, then every individual has a special genotype and your calculation will be a special case. In a case of population level study there are many factors affect gene frequency from generation to generation and also the population size and the type of mating affect the equilibrium status.
The genes on chromosomes have differents variations among them, This is not homogeneus and There are different structures between genes, it is difficult to do this algorithm. Do you want to do for an specific human chromosome?
