It was discovered in one of our project that the expression of LH gene receptor (LHR) was abscent in all Archachatina marginata reproductive organ considered. But on administration of some sex steroid and PMSG, haemolymph LH level was elevated.
Is there any possibilities of hormonal imprint to occur in snail tissue/physiological fluid where receptors are absent?

LH can maybe interact with an unknown receptor (ancestror of the mammalian one or described in other species), or as many hormones bind unspecifically another receptor.
For me, you can observe the presence of hormone where receptor is absent (as far as I know, there is no specific receptor described for DHEA for example).
In addition, even you don't have receptors in reproductive organs, you can have effect in other organs (brain, gastro-intestinal tract...).
