i want to simulate a solar cell with a new optical absorption spectra intensity that i calculated by DFT. i want to know that can i use the normalized spectra in scaps or other simulation program or not?
As far as i know the solar cell simulators solve the semicondcutor equations in the different layers of the device to calculate its I-V characteristics in dark and under illumination. So what do you input is the spectrum of the incident solar radiation as I(lambda) in w/cm^2/s. You have to apply a terminal voltage on the device. You have to feed the solver with the electronic and optical properties of the material. Concerning the optical properties required is reflection coefficient as a function of lambda and the absorption coefficient alpha(lambda). You have onlt to calculate alpha from the absorption spectrum output from the DFT.
