Many times I hear persons say that "you are not married so how can you give advice to married couples." I fail to see the relevance if a person is qualified in the area then, whether or not that person is married is beside the point. If we take the side that the person has to be married in order to counsel couples, then what about the person who is counseling a rape victim? Does it mean that in order for that person to counsel the rape victim that they have to be raped? I think sometimes we just make up these rules without thinking about them. If a person is a trained marriage counselor they do not have to be married in order to offer assistance in that area.
