Do we have to report model fit indices in mediator analysis? With a simple model (Hayes model 4), we found that our variable is a partial mediator. But fit indices: CFI = 1.00, GFI = 1.00 RMSEA = 0.396.
In the articles in some respectable journals, model fit indexes were not reported. What are your suggestions in these terms?
Partial mediation can be a controversial issue if it does not conform to the proposed theoretical framework. Other analyses of mediation through PROCESS are based only on regression, but they do not report this, but it is important to report it.
It is not necessary. I've come across published studies wherein fit indices have not been reported separately instead the mediation has been tested using SEM model and the fit indices are reported for the same.
