There is always a conflict between the Pure Sciences & Social Sciences about which is more releant. How do we resolve this?
It depends what social science subject, and what technical degree is.

Thank you very much for your question is very relevant. Far from being an expert, I am left with that of people who can give us a deep approach.
I understand that your question concerns secondary-level establishments with technical training or trades - where students between 12 and 17 or 18 years of age should attend. I take the courage to follow the position of some scientific articles, which are in favor of teaching social sciences at different levels of education. They point out that it helps students discover and assimilate the environment in which they live, taking into account the complexity of social facts in all their meaning and nuances - they study the method of case studies, propose a socially useful problem, and then the students seek information to make decisions and debate them.
They propose the teaching of the social sciences from a practical and experimental approach - not a learned or repetitive knowledge of theoretical and conceptual definitions - as well as the experience of a laboratory in a chemistry class, to provide skills to students to detect the ideological components at present among the overwhelming generation of news. I quote some authors who highlight this utility:
-To teach history consists in teaching to elaborate hypotheses, to search for evidence, to check the diversity of the evidence or sources and once the sources are collected and classified it is necessary to submit them to critical analysis. These skills are introduced early in the English curriculum (Dean, 2008)
-In the planning of activities and teaching units in history the work with the contents should have the purpose of the students to acquire knowledge (knowledge), develop skills for the management of information (know-how) and the acquisition of values and attitudes (actitudinal) (Arista, 2011).
- A person is competent in civic values when he is able to know, make and have an attitude in a particular context of action at the political level, social and economic, the correct management and management of information, media and new technologies, it would allow students to acquire these social skills and exercise active, participatory and critical citizenship (Selwyn, 2004).

Muchas gracias por su pregunta es muy relevante. Lejos de ser un experto, quedo a la de la de personas que nos puedan brindar un abordaje profundo.
Entiendo que su pregunta refiere a los establecimientos de nivel secundario que poseen una formación técnica o en oficios –donde deberían asistir alumnos entre 12 a 17 o 18 años–. Me tomo el atrevimiento de seguir la postura de algunos artículos científicos, que están a favor de la enseñanza de ciencias sociales en los distintos niveles de educación. Señalan que ayuda a que el alumno descubra y asimile el medio en el que vive, atendiendo a la complejidad de los hechos sociales en todo su significado y matices –destacan el método de estudios de caso, proponer una problemática socialmente útil, y luego los alumnos buscan información para tomar decisiones y debatirlas–.
Proponen la enseñanza de las ciencias sociales desde un enfoque práctico y experimental –no un saber erudito o de repetición de definiciones teóricas y conceptuales– , al igual que la experiencia de un laboratorio en un clase de química, para brindar habilidades a los alumnos para detectar los componentes ideológicos en la actualidad entre la abrumadora generación de noticias. Cito algunos autores que destacan esta utilidad:
–Enseñar a historiar consiste en enseñar a elaborar hipótesis, buscar pruebas, comprobar la diversidad de las pruebas o fuentes y una vez reunidas y clasificadas las fuentes es preciso someterlas al análisis crítico. Estas habilidades se introducen desde edades tempranas en el currículo inglés (Dean, 2008)
–En la planificación de actividades y unidades didácticas en historia el trabajo con los contenidos debe tener la finalidad de que los alumnos adquieran conocimientos (saber), desarrollen destrezas para el manejo de información (saber hacer) y la adquisición de valores y actitudes (actitudinal) (Arista, 2011).
– Una persona es competente en valores cívicos cuando es capaz de conocer, hacer y tener una actitud en un contexto determinado de actuación en los planos políticos, sociales y económicos, el correcto manejo y gestión de la información, tanto de los medios de comunicación como de las nuevas tecnologías, permitiría a los estudiantes adquirir esas habilidades sociales y ejercer una ciudadanía activa, participativa y crítica (Selwyn, 2004).
