For instance, using one hemisphere for brain slice staining via IHC and the other for analyzing neurotransmitter levels through LC-MS/MS? Are there any existing references or studies demonstrating this combined approach?

Maybe it's not possible because which part of the brain you're selecting for IHC is important, and you must use the entire brain for neurotransmitter analysis. There is no reference to such a reference in the previous research data.
