Dear, it is not right to call editor, you allow editor to take his decision without bias mind.

Thanks Emmanuel Ifeanyi Obeagu for your reply. But after submission of manuscript I didn't get confirmation mail of editor. That only I wanted to ask editor. I waited for 20 days. The journal doesn't have online submission system. I should atleast get to know whether my paper is with them or not.

I thinks that facilitate communication with journal, such as like your case , it does n't lead to any bias , editors mostly consider the advice of reviewers not authors.

As an editor for several journals, I had never received phone calls from the authors but I received a very few emails. I would definitely not appreciate editorial inquiries on the phone and it's very unlikely your call to an editor will be useful...
