Is it acceptable to read results of microdilution sensitivity test (antimicrobial sensitivity test using microdilution method) without using microtiter plate reader even though coumpound under investigation are water insoluble and may cause some turbidity with the broth?
we initially were doing a visual reading and its approximately gives equivalent result some time help of handless may be taken.and with water insoluble agent it is better to have a visual reading if the reader is a bottom single beam reader

You can try to put your samples from microplates on agar plates and then compare bacterial growth in solid cultures (something like spot tests).

Reading the plates visually is fine since you can tell the difference between turbidity and bacterial colonies. But, I do have a question: if your compounds are water insoluble, your dilution concentrations won't be accurate and so your MIC will not be accurate.
I you do not want to use microtiter plat reader you can use Miles and Mirsa or surface viable count for these concentration these concentrations and you will obtain visual MIC.

Yes, you can read results of microdilution sensitivity test without using microtiter plate reader, if you don't have the latter.
