Some of my friends and myself like organizing workshops along with international conferences. Some organizers conduct the workshops before the conference as a "Pre-Conference" event, while we like organizing the workshops like MATLAB or Modern Control Engineering or Signal Processing (to give some examples) after the Conference as a "Post-Conference" event. This helps more interaction for the participants with the Special Guests or Subject Experts and also for the students to present their works as "Poster events". The downside is the cost involved in star hotels as the hall rates and accommodation costs may be high and one tend to spend more. While academic side may have merits, the financial side may give some concerns. I have given a general introduction! Let us hear your views! - Sundar
