In my experience, “cognitive science” is what those is “cognitive psychology” say they study when they’re annoyed and trying to 'short circuit' having to explain how they’re not Freudians! :-) Seriously though, I normally see the distinction as overlapping circles of a Venn diagram. One circle is Cognitive Science, and it includes AI from Computer Science, Epistemology from Philosophy, and Cognitive Psychology from Psychology. The overlap with a Psychology circle includes Cognitive as well as parts of Neuro and Cognitive Development. As these fields fused together, historically seems like a reasonable way to distinguish Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Science. Suitability probably depends mostly on the distinctions you would like to make. Hope this is helpful, Adebayo. ~ Kevin
