Looking at the other definition of something marked by excessive, maladaptive, and compulsive there is a chance in the proposition of group hatred being pathological (excessive and maladaptive). Speaking in terms of pathological in regards to behaviour and biology, it seems a shot off target. Speaking in humanistic terms you could propose that certain behaviours are pathological and are caused as a result of environmental factors which can be generalized to certain demographic groups by their occurrence in society. Then you could say that because this is the case, it may require a form of social control, which of course is controversial and quite coercive. Speaking from a religious standpoint (although I beg to differ on this matter), these behaviours are indicative of the human heart which is called ugly, sinful, and broken, resulting in a manifestation of certain undesired behaviours, of which extreme hate and prejudice is one of them. No certainty in terms of whether or extreme hate is inspired by paranoia or simple hatred is made evident, although paranoia may be a cause it is not certain that it is in fact the only cause and is not very probable in such a thing. What say you?
Also pardon me if this was difficult to comprehend in any way, I want to express myself in terms that are as clear as possible:
Paranoia does not imply extreme hatred, and there are two possible explanations which require differing worldviews.
My question would be what are you planning on doing with this information?
I am interested in racism as a pathology and have sought the opinions of an evolutionary psychologist and a neuropsychologist at my institution. The information I have gathered is too extent to discuss here. If you would like to discuss my findings or perhaps do a collaboration, send me a message.
