I am an undergraduate student. I research a bacteria species that was already proved to be able to secrete an enzyme out from the cell (extracellular) with high enzyme activity. But when i checked the medium (predict the enzyme that secreted might be in the medium) myself, turns out it has very low enzyme activity. Is it possible if the enzyme is still in the bacteria and is it worth if i lyse the bacteria and check the intracellular enzyme?
