It is a widely held opinion that creativity and innovation is important in various aspects of people's lives, in many different spheres of human activity.
Creativity and innovation is also important in many spheres of professional activities carried out in different sectors of the economy, in different professional positions and professions of work performed. In addition, creativity and innovation is particularly important in the arts, in the creation of works of art within various fields of art. Creativity and innovation is, in its essence, a key factor in the arts. Creativity and innovativeness is also important in business, in the management of business entities, in the establishment of startups, in the creation of new technological solutions, new technologies, product and other innovations, in the creation of inventions, and so on.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
In your opinion, is creativity and innovation also important in conducting scientific research?

Without creativity, we would only have functionary jobs within the field of science. Creativity is the mother if innovation - and both create a need for science.

Creativity is original thought, idea, and knowledge. Innovation is the creative idea of coming up with a solution. Innovation involves lot of research to prove current scientific problems with solutions.
Very few research not innovative is possible, for example - review type research, which is also necessary to have in sciences, anyway other research has to be truly creative and innovative, if we want to have a high level of research.

Yes, creativity and innovation are extremely important in conducting scientific research. Scientific research often involves developing new hypotheses, testing and evaluating existing theories, and finding novel solutions to problems. Creativity and innovation are essential in coming up with new ideas and approaches to address these issues. In addition, the ability to think creatively and innovate can help researchers identify and solve problems that may not have been anticipated at the outset of a project, leading to more successful and impactful research outcomes.
En mi opinión el buen observador tiene también inovacon y creativida.
It depends on what the researcher wants to do with his research. e.g. 1. publishing data, 2. creating new products or services, 3. creating a new industry etc. . Most important is that the data are reproducible within a defined context. If the researcher wants to attract a wide range of interested readers then the data has to reflect value for the readers. Value means that the readers can see the possibility of creating a cash flow by means of converting the data into products and services. This also means that the data will enter an environment of competition. To survive the data has to be different and more valuable from competitors. If that level is reached then it makes sense to add creativity. In a competitive environment, some people will "steal or transfer it to their name". If the potential gain is high the creative research data should be protected by intellectual property.
We are now in a global world where everybody has access to research data. We also have had tremendous growth in the production of research data during the past 20 years. Most research is financed by the taxpayer. At the same time, the economies are increasingly unstable. It could well be that, especially in emerging economies research has to be combined with development and innovation so as to create new sustainable job opportunities
Willi Tiene razón en parte, ahora toda investigación que provengan de entes no cualificados son investigaciones de origen dudoso, pero eso no quiere decir que los investigadores tengan la capacidad para realizar dicha investigación. En mi caso la observación que es el primer paso de la investigación es primordial.
You need to re-look at the premise of your question. To suggest the creativity and innovation are in the arts -and- then wonder if they are in possibly in science is a gross misunderstanding of the human spirt to "wonder". --- Creativity, innovation, inspired ideas are part of all of us. In our everyday lives and in the achievements that help one another.
Its the basis of what we routinely pass, off as the evolution of mankind. Plus its in nature as the basis of "diversity".
Los pasos científicos para una adecuada investigación, esta ya establecidos por lo tanto la creatividad y la innovación, se encuentran en todos los pasos a seguir, El primer paso es la observación, y dicho proceso de observación debe de ser creativo, diferente a los demás y tener mucho análisis de lo observado. Por lo tanto todos los pasos del método científico debe de contener creatividad e innovación.
Certainly it is very necessary. Research is dynamic and in order to function effectively one needs to understand and adapt to changes in research environment.
The three key words namely alliance, partnership and cooperation, along with a little creativity, are required for the formation of innovation in the national and international scales/levels. However, it should not be neglected the other intermediate variables in this pathway.
