Brain Heart Infusion broth is broadly used for culturing a variety of microorganisms, both in clinical and research settings, a number of fastidious organisms, including some bacteria, yeasts, and other fungi, grow well on BHI.
BHI broth might not support all manner of fungal pathogens because it is a specific medium. Fungi are very unique & specific (to some extent) in their nutrient requirements for growth, sporulation, toxin & enzyme production or even mycelia mass production.
So, it is advisable to consult your laboratory manuals on mycology or meet with an expert in mycology to best determine which culture medium is best suited for your pathogen
