They look optimal with regard to cost, low prep time, high yield, and endotoxin free DNA. I would like the maxi kit for transfecting cell lines or cancer cell lines, so likely not primary cells. People out there must be using this kit due to cost. Thumbs up? Thanks.
This is a little bit different, but I have used Zymo's miniprep kit and got poor DNA yield. Maybe 9 ng/uL DNA, whereas I can sometimes get >1 ug/uL DNA using other brands. The cost of the kit was good, but not worth the poor yield. It might be different for their maxiprep kits, though.
Hi Jasmine. That helps. I have a free sample of the maxipreps coming, but sometimes it's not worth even trying those out when time is limited.
I'll see if others have used this kit.

I use mdi Endotoxin Free Quanta Giga Kit. These kits offer high yields from both low copy as well as high copy number plasmids. I have done giga prep for more than 100 samples using these kits. I got >10 mg plasmid yield each time.

With the mini prep kit, I got 50uL x 300ng/uL plasmid from 3mL bacteria culture.
With the maxiprep kit, I got 500uL x 4 ug/uL plasmid from 200mL bacteria culture.
Each time I use warm (75oC) 10mM Tris-Cl, pH8.0 to elute.

Hi all. We regularly use the Zymo Maxi and Midi preps. We get a much higher yield than QIAGEN, and it takes less time.

i used zymo maxi prep. i don't know why but where i obtain 0.5-1ug/ul with both thermo and qiagen, zymo gave me alwayas low as 10........ i don't know what wrong considering issame batch.
