PoSSuMSearch-1_3 is a command line software. I am trying to run this software on Fedora20 version, but unable to perform the task. It is showing error permission denied when running this command
[root@localhost yk]# PoSSuM-1_3/bin/mkvtree -db /root/yk/input.fas -index name /root/yk/input -protein -tis -suf -lcp -skp -v
bash: PoSSuM-1_3/bin/mkvtree: Permission denied.
Can anyone provide me the commands to run this program with example?
Another possibility is that your home directory is on a partition which is not mounted with r/w/x (read/write/execute) rights. Lately (some) linux distributions mount usb sticks or fat32/NTFS partitions as non-executable. Check using the "mount" command, then simply as you are already root "umount /dev/sd__" your parttion and mount it again: mount /dev/... This time the defaults will mount it with execute rights.
