Is anyone familiar with downscaling using the Power Transformation Method?

I am using Power Transformation method (Leander et al., 2007) (Terink et al., 2009) for bias correction of GCM data. I have some doubts regarding this method.

1. Do I have to calculate parameter a and b for every 5 days data for 17 years of my data which will result in (73*17 parameters of a and b each).

2. SInce parameter a and b is determined by matching mean and CV of GCM data with historical observed data, how can I determine parameter for future GCM data?
