Dear all,
In some article I have observed that encapsulation efficiency of curcumin in nanoparticle is determined by measuring absorption of nanoparticle suspension in about 420 nm (maximum absorption wavelength curcumin). But I think it be wrong because for example nanoparticle is formed by protein aggregation or other complexation mechanisms during which the particle size rises to 100 nm or more than. I also know that particles (and all colloidal systems) with these sizes have adsorption in 420 nm (generally from 320 nm to 600 nm). How can I be sure that this absorption, which is read for determination encapsulation efficiency, is related to curcumin and not due to the turbidity of nanoparticle suspension.
I have attached a screenshot from such method to determine encapsulation efficiency of curcumin.
Thanks for any help!
