Specifically searching for use cases and publications related to medication therapy management (MTM), medication adherence/compliance, interoperability, or examples where the use of i2b2 de-identified data could be compared to identified patient data.
I currently work as a resident pharmacist for a community pharmacy integrated within a large 340-b hospital. I have been given access to i2b2 data through Cerner as a potential source of data. I'm in the early stages of project/research planning and would like to get as many inputs as possible.
Dr Kelly Cochran at UMKC has expertise in ambulatory care MTM reporting and meaningful use. You probably know of her.
I am currently working in the ambulatory care setting in RBWH Brisbane. My background is a prescribing pharmacist in the the general practice, hospital interface of primary care in Scotland. I am now working in Cardiology outpatients and am keen to assess the role the pharmacist can play in improving adherence but ultimately reducing re-admission. I am about to commence on a research project for medication adherence piggy backing off some previous work carried out by Neil Cotrell of the University of Queensland. You might find some interesting articles on adherence with his name to them. I have not heard of i2b2 data through Cerner but have done a quick google search. It looks like I won't have access to it in Oz so it will be interesting to keep up with how you are getting on and which path you decide to go down. I still haven't refined my research question yet as there are so many routes I could take so I am still trying to establish the most appropriate / achievable. Good luck.
