yes ofcourse. u just need to denature the extract using NaOH and SDS, then bring back the pH using potassium acetate and glacial acetic acid. in the mean time, potassium acetate reacts with SDS to form a precipitate which goes and struggles chromosomal DNA to renature properly while plasmid DNA renatures easily as it had interlocked rings of ssDNA.
