I am looking for DEM covered Indian subcontinent (30m or higher resolution) which is available for more than one data so that I can do some temporal analysis.
If anyone knows about this kind of data, please reply.
The selection of data completely depends upon the size of the area of interest (AOI).
You can go with CartoDEM (IRS-P5) for small areas within the Indian subcontinent, which will provide a higher spatial resolution along with a number of datasets available for a particular region. Only the 30 m resolution dataset is freely available, and for the higher resolution, you have to purchase it.
But if you are considering the entire Indian subcontinent's data for analysis, the volume of data will be too large for higher spatial resolution. In that case, ALOS may be a better choice.
What ever datasets you use, it is important to read all the technical documentation, because at a continental scale are usually composites of data collected over lengthy periods of time, from multiple passes of usually many different platforms, and the processed in various ways to reduce errors and create consistency. Almost all provide source data layers, error layers, etc. The accuracy will not be uniform across the dataset, highly ridged mountains will be different than flat plains. Some are adjusted for hydrological consistency, i.e. so water will flow correctly.
