I recently tested Abcam's anti-albumin antibody (ab106582) on paraffin-embedded sections of mice brain. Unfortunately, the staining is inconsistent and unreliable.
Does anyone use this or another albumin antibody that produces good staining? Or perhaps I should change my protocol?

Since this antibody was tested and validated for IHC-P (see https://www.abcam.com/products?keywords=Albumin+ab106582), yes, I think so.

The problem is that I already tested it, more than once, but the staining is very confusing and unreliable.

However, what ever is the reason for the aforementioned comment, I agree that antibodies were validated when first developed...following commercial lots are not tested again. Thus, antibodies are possibly not specific (for ref. see Baker M. Reproducibility crisis Blame it on the antibodies. Nature. 2015_521.p274-6. doi 10.1038521274a).

however, I would blame it - at least in part - to commercially available not further tested antibodie charges, because diminished reliablilty due to increasing unertainties regarding antibody qualitiy, efficacy and specificity is a growing problem in this context.
