Thanks for your feedback. Would you suggest that I choose either conference paper or article for the research item (presented in a scientific conference) or both? Thank you.
Thanks for your reply. I am aware of that. I shall clarify my question further. I meant if an abstract for conference is published in a conference program book and also an indexed journal supplementary issue, can I claim as two research items: one for conference and another one for article in a journal. Thanks.
I got it. This is my own opinion about your query, but others could have different answers.
It is reasonable to me if you present your work at a conference and consider it as a separate research item, while convincing it as a 'Presentation/talk at a conference'. Then your second publication can be considered as another research item published in the form of a 'Full-text article published in an indexed journal'. However, the two identical abstracts published in two separate venues (i.e. one in a conference proceedings and the other in a journal with full-text) do not make me to think as two separate research items.
It I not unusual to present the same research material several times to different emphasis. Sometimes the change is significant enough to consider it a different paper but usually it is not.
