Is 5G and Ethernet sufficient enough to connect, communicate & helpful to enable cyber security for 500 million vehicles in a model smart city infrastructure?

No. 5G does not solve the sub 1ms latency requirement of real time network driven "autonomous vehicles".
"Beyond 5G" has a future...
Note that even if telecom networks are happy to be managed with 1-5 ms accuracy (latency)), it's not the case for energy networks like national grid electricity networks.
There are different ways to break the 1ms barrier. Topic for another question...
There will not be 500 Mio cars in a 5G cell. A server can handle that and in a cell there a far fewer cars. If the cars transmit only a small dataset it should work.

5G can reach 100 Mbits speed so we can say that it can support what can smart city handl as cars; I mean we will not reach 500 millions car in a city.
