Hi, my answer may be won't be the best answer..but there are a lot of things that can be explore especially in exploring the therapeutic target using bioinformatics, such as survivin, caspase-9 etc..

in brief, bioinformatics is mandatory to find something new and impactful in any biological science field, simply because you need computer analysis to deal with huge amount of data. For instance, if you are looking for transcripts up or downregulated in cancer you will need bioinformatic tools to analyse genome sequences, in other words, to assign your target sequences and do gene mining.
