The operating software of the electron microscope that i use always generate 3 sets of results for each analysis:
1) weight percentage
2) atomic percentage
3) peak area
I do not canduct the analysis myself and i am not really familiar with the terminology of electronmicroscopy. The first two terms are self explanatory. What is unclear to me is the exact meaning of 'peak area'. How is 'peak area' defined and what useful information can i get from the 'peak area' data?
I have attached 3 pictures from different sets of results of the same sample. The sample here is steel fiber coated with CuO/TiO2 through sol gel technique.
