That depends on what jetting mechanisms you are looking for. For conventional and most mature piezo-based printing, then printers from MicroDrop and MicroFab should be the best, which provide products from entry level to high-end. They are more versatile and have better positioning precision than the cheaper and more commonly used Dimatix.

However if you want to print patterns smaller than tens-of-um, then you should be looking for electrohydrodynamic printers. I would only recommend SIJTechology for this domain since they provide the best reliability, with the best mechanical design. Surely, there are other mechanisms that can produce sub-micron resolution, like Sonoplot using ultrasonification and Optomec using aerosol jetting, but I would say they do not produce as high quality patterns as SIJ.

I have already tried to contact MicroFab and I will also take a closer look at MicroDrop. Hopefully after some time, when I am more advanced I will come back to this post to explore the higher precision printing options : )

Is there a reason to go for piezo printing and not thermal with PEDOT? I have seen many people even using common desktop printers (like Canon or Hewlett Packard) that use thermal print heads.

Would you consider using Epson´s high precision printers to print PEDOT on flexible substrates? I am just thinking in lines of having a cheap option to prove the concept before moving on to bigger investments .

Thermal printers are good for printing PEDOT, but not for other inks dissolved in organic solvents, which is a necessity if you are proceeding to print functional electronic devices. Also, thermal printers won't be able to jet high-resolution droplets with enough stability as piezo printers. So my suggestion is, if you are aiming to print micro-scale patterns/devices, and you don't want to restrict yourself in printing only water-based inks, the more versatile piezo printer should be better.

I do not know about Epson's printer. But actually all printers can print on flexible substrates, as long as the substrate surface is flat.

If you want to have a try first, then I would recommend you just have the try on the manufacturer's machine. Most companies provide free try-out. Just send your samples and see which printers get the best result.
