I am trying to use influenza A/California/08/2009 H1N1 virus for a challenge in Balb/c mice. I don't have the MID50 for this virus and it is not avilable to run it in my situation. But I know the EID 50 for my stock. Any idea about the equivalence EID50 for 1 MID50 for this virus???
Vladimir has given a good answer and estimate, but keep in mind MID50 is also mouse strain specific. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22030859 It would be helpful and relevant to know if Vladimir's #'s are for Balb/c mice.

We infected Balb/c and C57BL6 mice with a similar H1pdm09 virus (Mex/4108/09). Figure 2 shows MLD50s for each strain using different EID50's. See attached reference to give you an idea.
