well, I think that it is the responsibility of cicil society to assure that forest degradation is slowed down in India for envrionmental and social reasons. I think that the political framework allows progressive envrionmental and social policies, but forests in India have been under severe pressures from colonial times until today and to protect forests is surely a huge challenge

The National Agroforestry Policy, which deals with the practice of integrating trees, crops and livestock on the same plot of land, was launched February 1.
