Academic and research influence taken on the whole , about caring types or nursing conceptual modelization . Not in a special field or in a special branch. They might have impact in primary health care.
Royal College of Nursing is a quite good link to ask. Thanks.

Dr Lisbeth Hockey was a very influential nurse in terms of primary care research. She was the first Director of the Nursing research unit at the University of Edinburgh. I had the pleasure of meeting her several times and even in her 80's she was still doing research. At that time she was looking at cumulative trivia in the elderly for which she had received external funding. The link below will give you some further information about Dr. Hockey
I have worked with Betty Ferrell, RN, PhD, here at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California for more than 7 years. In my opinion, she is one of the most influential researchers and widely publicized authors in the fields of nursing research and education for nearly three decades. One of her more recent books, Making Health Care Whole (2010, Templeton Press), which she co-authored with physician Christina M. Puchalski, MD, speaks to integrating spirituality into patient care. She is someone you should definitely include in your review.
For the transfer from in patient care to primary care (nurse practitioner programs), the most significant nurse in the United States in the mid 1960s at the University of Colorado was ,Dr. Loretta Ford, who is Professor University of Rochester. . In Canada; the most significant nurse was the late Dr. Dorothy Kergin, of McMaster University, the late 1960s..
I think, in England, the role of the nurse midwife in the community in conjunction with community nursing was/is one of the first primary care including family nursing programs and practice which, in my view, preceded any contemporary primary care.today. Ontario, Canada had an active family/primary care nursing program at McMaster University in the 1970s. The role is resurrecting again. with a focus on multidisciplinary health care team approaches.
