Global warming is a complex phenomena due to the presence in the atmosphere of green house effect gases in adnormal quantities.

CO2 mainly generated by the burning of fossil fuels like cool or petrol is the most abundant one, but not the only one.

CH4 (methane) is less abundant but more efficient. Aerosols and mainly stratospheric aerosols play also a no negligible role.

People who study climate are called climatologists. Climatologists use temperature and precipitation records to define what a place's “normal” climate is like. They do this by averaging 30 years of temperature and precipitation records. They also keep track of this information by making climographs for cities and regions.

I remain open to be enlightened by someone smart enough to know that climate change and global warming are related. Thus far, two of scientists understood it.

A sustainable Earth is not about blaming one person and it is about our collective responsibility to save our planet from excessive pollution, excessive use of resources, excessive dependance on fossil fuel. It doesn't matter who did the abuse first, we need to find new ways to promote practices for a more sustainable Earth to preserve it for future generations.

I do agree with you about the need for us globally to become more resourceful and turn problems into opportunities. Your example of the Dutch is a good one and thank you for sharing it. Carbon dioxide(CO2) is the main cause of global warming because it store heat and is not allowed to go out like greenhouses, leading to higher in temperatures.
